Cluster Diagram:

Essential Questions:
What is the difference between objects and materials?
What materials would a toy maker use to make a doll house? A train set? A computer game?
What materials did First Nations use to make a shelter? Tools? A canoe? To decorate their traditional clothes and items?
To teach this cluster, I would teach it in the order of: blue, purple, green, then pink. I would do it this way because I feel like in order to explore and describe the characteristics of materials using senses the kids would first need to be able to distinguish between an object and a material. After blue and purple, I would go to green because the kids will learn the usefulness of objects and how important it is to be responsible with our materials by using the 3 R’s. After those, we would go in to the design process since the kids would have the knowledge needed to complete the process.
